Thanks for your effort to talk in french, it's really appreciate ! ;o)

From what you describe, it look's like a slideshow of picture in HAM... the chessboard were often used as background in earlier 3D rendering.

It would help a lot if you could remember group name or artist author.

If it's really a demo and not a game, then i suggest to have a look to those different site as they've often some screenshot :
